Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Go Self Drive Rwanda. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our car rental services.

1. Agreement to Terms By renting a vehicle from Go Self Drive Rwanda, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Rental Requirements

  • Age: Renters must be at least 21 years old. Some vehicle categories may require a higher minimum age.
  • Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license held for at least 2 years is required. International renters must present an international driving permit along with their home country driver’s license.
  • Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept major credit cards and other payment methods as specified on our website.

3. Vehicle Use

  • Permitted Drivers: Only the renter and any additional drivers listed in the rental agreement are authorized to drive the rental vehicle.
  • Prohibited Use: The vehicle must not be used for illegal purposes, racing, towing, or driving off-road unless specified in the rental agreement.
  • Mileage Limits: Some rentals may have mileage limits. Additional charges apply for exceeding the mileage limit.

4. Insurance and Liability

  • Insurance Coverage: Basic insurance coverage is included in the rental price. Additional insurance options are available for purchase.
  • Damage and Theft: Renters are responsible for any damage to or theft of the vehicle during the rental period, subject to the terms of the insurance policy.
  • Accidents: In the event of an accident, renters must immediately inform Go Self Drive Rwanda and the local authorities. A police report must be filed.

5. Booking and Cancellation

  • Reservations: Reservations can be made online or through our customer service. A confirmation email will be sent once the booking is complete.
  • Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made 48 hours before the rental start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the rental start date may incur a cancellation fee.

6. Vehicle Pickup and Return

  • Pickup: Renters must present a valid driver’s license and the payment method used for the booking at the time of vehicle pickup.
  • Return: Vehicles must be returned to the agreed location on or before the agreed return time. Late returns may incur additional charges.
  • Condition: Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as when rented, except for normal wear and tear. Cleaning fees may apply if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty.

7. Fuel Policy

  • Fuel Level: Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. Refueling charges will apply if the vehicle is not returned with a full tank.

8. Fines and Penalties

  • Renters are responsible for all fines, penalties, and other charges incurred during the rental period, including traffic violations and parking tickets.

9. Privacy

  • Data Collection: We collect personal information necessary for the rental process. This information is protected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • Communication: By providing your contact information, you agree to receive communications from Go Self Drive Rwanda regarding your rental and promotional offers.

10. Changes to Terms

  • Go Self Drive Rwanda reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website and will take effect immediately.

11. Governing Law

  • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Rwanda. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Rwanda.
