Gorilla permits
The only you are allowed to view the gorillas is when you buy gorilla permits. The prices of the gorilla permits are relatively affordable; you pay $600 during the peak season and $450 during the low seasons. The reason for that price is to enable the government pay salaries to the government employees involved in wildlife, to conserve the environment, treat the animals, and give back to the community.
Rangers are required during gorilla trekking.
You shall be given a ranger to enable you trek the animals. The rangers normally carry a gun for security purposes and because of their insightful knowledge, ranges can easily trace the whereabouts of gorillas; they are the ones to tell the last spot where they shall the gorillas and they are always able to trace gorillas through their several wildlife foot prints that they leave as they move to other areas.
You are told to stay away about 20 meters from the gorillas.
When trekking gorillas, you shall be told to stay away about 20 meters from the gorillas and you shall be given a maximum of one hours to stay with around the gorillas, this is the time when you take all the beautiful photos as you may decide.
